Reviews Summary
Generally very positive reviews highlighting its stunning beauty, extensive length ideal for walking, excellent conditions for various watersports (especially surfing), and dramatic views of the Minaun cliffs. Some reviewers note the water can be cold and the beach can get busy, particularly regarding parking.
It was an experience having the sea spray wet you rather than the usual rain! On a winter’s day it was fairly bleak with poor visibility - but it didn’t stop the surfers!
Keel Beach is a sandy beach located in Achill Island, in Western Ireland. It is a big Sandy beach, which is very beautiful. We came here at the beginning of November and it is really nice. We could not sunbathe or bathe, but walking around the beach and relaxing is a very good option. Also, the views of the coast and the forms of the sand when the sea comes is wonderful. Relax and views.
A good long beach ideal for walking. The beach is popular with surf schools etc. It can be quite busy in terms of parking and there are quite a few food trailers parked up.
Another beautiful beach in Achill. Well worth a visit but beware! It is the Atlantic Ocean and can be rather cold for swimming!
Keem beach much nice with15 min ride from keel beach with better spectacular views..Its ok but not my favourite spots in Ireland
Absolutely stunning beach... Unspoilt in beautiful Achill Island. Well worth a visit if you are anywhere near Achill.
