Beach Type: Sand (composed entirely of fragments of tiny seashells – foraminifera, giving it a pure white colour). Water described as turquoise/crystal-clear.

Located approx 3.2km (7-min drive) from Roundstone village in Connemara, Co Galway, on the road to Clifden. Lies back-to-back with Gurteen Beach, forming a tombolo jutting into the Atlantic Ocean. Roads in the area are narrow.
